Glamour
According to the book glamour is the point where someone is at the state of being envied. In other words glamour is when someone admires another person based on their looks, personality, actions, etc. Glamour is definitely apparent through most media and alters the way we look at things. In the film How To Get Ahead In Advertising, glamour is definitely a major theme. At the beginning the main character is trying to figure out numerous ways to make an advertisement for boil cream by using glamour to make it look better. He believed that adding glamour to the ad will attract the consumers eye for the product better than simply advertising it based on the raw facts. However it does become ironic when he gets his own massive boil and becomes an unglamourous person himself.
